Plastic or wood coat hangers?

My wife and I are moving and have tons of plastic coat hangers that I would like to get rid of. I also have several wooden coat hangers as well. Which are better? Can any of these be recycled? We are moving to Orlando from Portland, so are wooden hangers not a great idea due to the high humidity and termites?

1. plastic seem to hold up better. if you want to get rid of something for free just set it out by the curb, it wont be long and it will disappear!
2. I have lived in Florida my whole life. I have had both types of coat hangers and there is no problem with wooden hangers. The inside of your house will not be humid (hopefully) and termites get into wood structure through contact with the ground. I have never heard of anyone getting termites in just misc. wooden objects.
